About my Work
Who I Am |
About EncausticsRecent concentration has seen me working with encaustics and my original photographs. Some of my photographic pieces are combined with ephermera layered into the encaustic medium, a mixture of beeswax and damar resin. Others have hand-dyed silk layers, while some are completely encaustic. The flexibility of working with natural beeswax allows me to use pastels, oils, image transfers and mark making to create painterly images.

I am a mixed media artist and photographer. As a life long photographer my image gallery serves as inspiration for my mixed media pieces. On my journeys, whether long or short, landscapes, local architecture and the capriciousness of nature capture my attention. On the front page of this website you will see part of a series from Le Chemin de Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle, a 300 mile pilgrimage I did in South-central France in 2014. Featured are images from l'Abbaye Saint-Pierre, an ancient abbey that was a Benedictine and Cluniac monastery in Moissac.
